Ecofys compares required emission reduction under the Greenhouse Development Rights approach (GDRs, developed by EcoEquity) with other methods to share emission allowances proposed for an international climate agreement post 2012. This particular approach requires all countries to reduce emissions based on the percentage of the national population that is emitting or earning more than a development threshold. The results of this analysis are given for major developed and developing countries and on a regional basis up to 2050.
