The Strategy Cluster of Ecofys works on analysis and strategic advice in four main areas: technology and innovation; energy and climate policy evaluation and design; energy market developments and climate change. The international cluster has a multidisciplinary staff carrying out projects for multiple clients including local, regional and (inter)national governments, the European Commission, multilateral organisations (UNFCCC, IEA) as well as corporate clients and NGOs.

Senior Consultant Energy in the Built Environment

The position

Using your broad and substantial knowledge of sustainable energy and and energy conservation for the built environment., you advise our clients on their strategic directions and positioning in the market of the built environment. You assist them in their challenging policy and business developments.

Through your network you acquire new assignments. You often act as a project leader in (international) projects in which you achieve the best possible sustainable solutions for our clients.

In addition, you contribute to the development of new products and services and to the supervision of the medior and junior consultants. Of course you work closely together with your colleagues in the process. Because of your knowledge of the current opolicy and market developments with regard to energy conservation and energy in the built environment building, you are capable of going off the beaten track in order to come up with innovative solutions.

The specialist will be based either in London or Utrecht.

Your profile

You have more than 5 years of experience and a track record of high-level consultancy assignments in the field of energy in the built environment. You combine strong analytical thinking with an interest in sustainable energy solutions. You are an inspiring team player; you have a practical and commercial attitude and excellent communications skills. You are used to working on (international) projects and meeting tight deadlines in terms of time and budget. You have a good knowledge and command of the English language. You will be based in our London or Utrecht office.

To meet the demands of this position you bring:

• a university degree in natural science, technology or environmental sciences
• more than 5 years of working experience in the field of energy conservation, energy in the built environment and/or in sustainable energy policies
• a international network of relations amongst governmental and corporate clients
• extensive project management and communication skills
• excellent insight in current policy and market developments regarding sustainable energy and energy in the built environment
• excellent oral and written command of English or Dutch
