The Bioenergy group within Ecofys deals with execution of strategic consultancy and realisation of installations in the field of bioenergy. Focus areas in the field of bioenergy are: biomass combustion and co-firing, biofuels - including second generation technology developments, anaerobic digestion, electricity and/or heat generation (CHP), and biomass supply chain sustainability. We service clients in the whole biomass project development chain: starting with helping our clients to determine their strategy evolution to supporting clients in realising concrete projects.

Senior Bioenergy Consultant
The position
As a Senior Bioenergy Consultant you will provide consultancy services to industry, governments and NGOs. Key activities are likely to include policy development, strategic consultancy services, biomass sourcing, technology selection, feasibility studies, due diligence services and project development support. You will support non-bioenergy colleagues on technical, policy and strategy related to biomass/bioenergy. You will be expected to generate sales leads via your in-depth knowledge of the market and existing contact network and write proposals to secure new consulting contracts.
Your profile
You are a senior consultant with an academic background and several years of professional experience in the energy or waste sector, agro-industry, forestry, agriculture, wood processing or paper industry (experience in the biomass project planning process and project development would be advantageous). You show a Strong commercial attitude and entrepreneurial skills in identifying and seizing opportunities in a competitive market place. Therefore you use your knowledge of companies and other organisations involved in the (bio)energy industry and a thorough understanding of (inter)national renewable energy and climate change policy and legislation. You have good project management, proposal writing and presentation skills and an excellent oral and written command of English.
