International Cluster Director - Energy and Climate Strategies

The position

The Energy and Climate Strategies (ECS) cluster is looking for an international cluster director. Work will be shared with the current international cluster director. It is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional wanting to join in an innovative business with the ambition to grow substantially.

Together with the co-director you will be responsible for a smooth and coherent operation of the international ECS cluster. Key in that matter is contributing to the international market position and profitability of ECS. You will manage this cluster in all aspects and in sync with the Ecofys strategy. Your focus is on the development of our business and our people. You are responsible for business planning, implementation and control.

You will report to the Board of Ecofys International and will represent ECS and Ecofys in an international context. As the current international cluster director is operating from Utrecht, The Netherlands, there is a preference to have the second cluster manager operating from one of our other offices.

The cluster

The cluster comprises of well-trained and highly motivated experts in our main offices in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom. The cluster combines senior consultants with junior staff. The cluster’s work concentrates on identifying and evaluating the practical requirements and impacts of new policy frameworks or policy instruments and assisting our clients in development of new approaches and activities. Essential in this is the ability to link strategic and conceptual thinking to a pragmatic approach.

Your profile

Our ideal candidate:

• Has broad management experience within a technical, primarily content-driven international environment;
• Has a strong network within the sector;
• Has a university degree and at least seven years of experience in consultancy or business environment;
• Is an internationally minded, proactive person with good negotiation and communication skills;
• Has a commercial and customer-oriented attitude and is able to convert market opportunities into tangible projects;
• Has excellent writing and communication skills in English and preferably one or more other languages.
