The ECS cluster is working on analysis and strategic advice in four main areas: technology and innovation; energy and climate policy evaluation and design and energy and carbon market developments. The international cluster has a multidisciplinary staff.

Emissions Trading Coordinator
Location: in one of our fast-growing offices outside the Netherlands
The position
Our candidate has the professional and personal capacities to contribute to the strengthening and further expansion of our emission trading activities. You combine 5 years of experience in analyses of market-based instruments, including emissions trading and emission reduction potentials in the power sector and industry with a commercial attitude. You will be responsible for developing and marketing new ETS-related activities and services, maintaining and establishing new client relationships and supporting colleagues in the various offices in this regard. You will also manage large ETS projects and provide specialist knowledge to colleagues and clients. Together with project managers and national workfield managers you will be responsible for upholding Ecofys’ high quality standards and ensuring consistency across countries and related topics. You will represent Ecofys in national and international environments and identify opportunities for profiling Ecofys.
The coordinator will be based in one of our international offices outside The Netherlands, with regular travelling required.
Your profile
- Scientific academic background (in engineering, natural sciences or economics);
- At least 5 years of proven experience in climate change in general and 2-3 years in emissions trading in particular;
- Strong project management skills;
- Willingness to travel;
- Experience with advising on policy/strategy, especially in politically sensitive arenas;
- Experience in a commercial environment, including acquiring new funding;
- Strong analytical skills, solution-oriented approach;
- Capacity for lateral thinking;
- Ability to work in different cultures;
- Comfortable working in a highly dynamic organisation;
- Excellent (verbal and written) communication and presentation skills in English;
- Additional languages are an advantage.
